The New PSP Go

Sony has hinted at the release of the UMD-less PSP. Tentatively called PSP Go.

Overheard via 1UP, here’s the gist of the story:

  • Many thought the new name would be PSP 2 or PSP 4000
  • It is most likely NOT to have a UMD
  • Available in either 8GB or 16GB built-in memory
  • Rumored release in Japan will be in September
  • North America release in October or November.
  • 100 classic and new PSP titles available for download at launch
  • d-pad, analog nub, and face buttons as part of a sliding unit sticking out below the screen
  • will not have a second analog stick
