I’ve recently finished reading the last issue of the sleeper hit Cable – Deadpool series and I realized I REALLY wanted a Deadpool action figure.
A standard Marvel Legends Deadpool action figure is kind of hard to find nowadays and if you do find one, prepare to bleed money because that figure’s expensive.
So I did what any intelligent toy collector would do. I turned to the internet to find answers.
I found that most figure modders (yeah, that’s what they want to be called. It’s cool) used Moon Knight as base and just added details depending on what Deadpool version they were gunning for (Deadpool…gunning. I kill me). Good thing I traded in my whole Legend of the 5 Rings collection for a Moon Knight + Spider Woman figure a couple of months ago (Thanks Mark!)

I basically took note of the lines on Deadpool’s costume and covered up the black parts with masking tape, making sure there were no gaps which could cause paint seeping in and ruining the finished figure.

I then sprayed the whole figure with white paint as primer to give the red parts equal shade when I spray it.

After 3 cigarettes, I decided the paint has dried up for the red coat. It took 2 coatings to get the effect I wanted.

Another 3 cigs (this shit will kill me, surely) and I was ready to remove the masking.
Here’s the finished Deadpool. I kinda like him better than the one Toybiz released.
