You heard it! A life-sized Gundam in the heart of Tokyo.
The Japanese have “one-upped” us again.
They’re building an EXACT REPLICA 1/1 SCALE of a Gundam at the heart of Tokyo. According to a post by Kotaku, “the structure in Odaiba’s Shiokaze Park will stay up for only two months and be built from fiberglass-reinforced plastic over a steel frame and coated in a layer of awesomeoness. Fifty points on the Gundam statue will emit light, and mist will shoot out of 14 different points on the statue. The 1/1 scale Gundam will boast a moveable head.”
Cool! Hmmm… are they preparing for an invasion and displaying their mecha in public just to fool all of us? Swell idea!
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first big replica. Back in 2007, another replica was made. But that thing was lying down and was meant to be the feature at Fuji-Q Highland amusement park. Visitors of the amusement park can enter the Gundam and go through several sections eventually racing towards the cockpit (head) by overcoming a series of obstacles.
Here’s the video…
