Created  and developed by Hybride Technologies, (the visual effects studio behind 300 and Sin City which Ubisoft bought last year for just these sorts of projects) these short movies will definitely help whet the appetites of fans eagerly awaiting the release of the video game video Assassin’s Creed II  on November 17, 2009.

Something to cheer you up!

Transformers director Michael Bay has just announced that they are already working on Transformers 3. The movie is scheduled to be shown on July 2011.

Here’s an excerpt from the report by IGN

The Transformers series director made the following announcement today at his official site: “Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012. Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.”

Alrighty! A nice movie next year.

Always taking it to the extreme, he flies his favorite barber from the UK at a cost of $22,000 in a special cabin just to isolate the barber from Swine Flu. After arriving in Brunei, Ken Modestou, who runs a barber’s at Dochester Hotel in Mayfair, is afforded several thousand dollars as payment.

The 63-year-old, who is one of the world’s richest men with a £12billion fortune, also paid for Mr Modestou’s accommodation for a few nights and gave him several thousand dollars in payment.
Back in London, the barber charges just £30 for a cut. Mr Modestou has been cutting the sultan’s hair for 16 years, sometimes going every three or four weeks.

Here’s something to look forward to next month. Torchlight. By Runic Games. Something nice before waiting for Diablo 3 bores us to death…

Torchlight is an action role-playing game currently under development by Runic Games. The game is scheduled for release for Windows on October 27, 2009. The fantasy-themed game is set in the fictional town of Torchlight and the expansive caverns and dungeons nearby, which adventurers explore to collect valuable loot and battle hordes of monsters.

Development of the game is led by Travis Baldree, designer of Fate, and Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer, co-designers of Diablo and Diablo II, joined by the team that developed Mythos.

When a founder of the Church of Jedism was asked to take off his hood in a Tesco supermarket, sparks flew!

Daniel Jones, 23, went inside a Tesco store in Wales, UK and was asked to take off his hood. He apparently replied ‘No, its part of my religion. It’s part of my religious right.’ I gave them a Jedi church business card…They weren’t listening to me and were rude. They had three people around me. It was intimidating.

When word spread of this so-called discrimination, Tesco responded in a cool manner

He hasn’t been banned. Jedis are very welcome to shop in our stores although we would ask them to remove their hoods…Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Luke Skywalker all appeared hoodless without ever going over to the Dark Side and we are only aware of the Emperor as one who never removed his hood…If Jedi walk around our stores with their hoods on, they’ll miss lots of special offers.

People who have downloaded the new Eidos title, Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC version) illegally, might be surprised when they realize a certain “problem” in the game prevents them from advancing through it properly.

While some pirates might have thought the copy protection mechanisms were beaten when the game loaded properly, Eidos has (at least) one more trick up its sleeve that probably wasn’t suspected.
On the Eidos Forums, a user Cheshirec_the_cat might have gotten a surprise with the response from an Administration over the problem he has had with the game.

“Hi!
I’ve got a problem when it’s time to use Batman’s glide in the game. When I hold , like it’s said to jump from one platform to another, Batman tries to open his wings again and again instead of gliding. So he fels down in a poisoning gas. If somebody could tel me, what should I do there.” Cheshirec_the_cat asked on a new thread.

After one user told him to “try buying the game” and commented that it has not even been released publicly for PC yet, an administrator, Keir, summed up the problem for him.

“The problem you have encountered is a hook in the copy protection, to catch out people who try and download cracked versions of the game for free.

It’s not a bug in the game’s code, it’s a bug in your moral code.”

Of course, Cheshirec_the_cat did not reply.
