Disney-Pixar goes to the comic books

Boom Studios to create Disney & Pixar books

Last July 23, 2008, Disney Publishing Worldwide and BOOM! Studios announced that they’ll be teaming up to create comic books for several of Disney’s properties. Up this line are Disney-Pixar’s Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., The Incredibles, and even Wall-E.

Pixar goes BOOM

This means more comic books for the kids, again, right? No civil wars, hero-killing, head-bursting, nude-on-all-panels-adult-no-censorship-makes-me-write-sicker-stuff material.

What’s got me excited about this news? Comics for the Incredibles! They’re bound to be the best material for this medium – and it’s quite a wonder why they took this look for it. With no sign of the movie sequel yet, several story arcs and spin-offs in the comics would have kept the fans drooling.

It’s really overdue – let’s hope they come out with the first few issues soon!

About ViolentDream

Has got a LEGENDARY case of Tourette's when he's driving and has an ASTONISHING obsession with getting a new pair of hiking shoes each week (though he AMAZINGLY can't afford to do that). He MASTERFULLY thinks his physique can improve once he just stops SPECTACULARLY daydreaming about it. He's also known to be able to break your concentration FANTASTICALLY. ViolentDream has had INCREDIBLY diverse experiences - from journalistic writing, graphic design, editorial cartooning, CAD and 3D design and animation, product and project management. He's now UNCANNILY busy catching up with video-gaming, action figure modding, and the Mixed Martial Arts scene. Oh, and he's really not into comics. Bah.
