It’s been almost 40 years (1974 to be exact) when Dungeons and Dragons came out. Thanks to Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, we geeks had had great and memorable memories with D&D. It also spawned countless video games, games, and even more games.

That generation of D&D players are now Dads (or moms). And it’s time to pass on the torch to our children. See how a dad tries to ask help from the community on how to teach kids the proper way to play D&D…

One dad has began to teach his kids to play D&D using the quick-and-dirty Castle Ravenloft boxed game. It’s sort of a cross between pen-and-paper and a board game. That and similar games in the genre can be perfect for introducing new players (not just kids) to this great hobby.

That’s what the Game Save project will attempt to do.

According to their website; “GameSave is a hack-a-thon style event which takes place over the course of 5 weeks, during which multiple teams of game developers and emergency relief professionals will each create a complete game concept and working demo aimed at an aspect of disaster relief. Teams can be assembled in several ways. A team can be composed of independent individuals who organize themselves initially through our registration site and wiki. Teams can also be sponsored as a unit by their respective employers.”

You heard it right, due to the threat of a pandemic (and the sensitive nature of the subject), the launch/announcement of Dead Rising 2 at E3 won’t be happening.

Although Capcom said that they ain’t finished with the code, their Japanese staff won’t be able to make it to E3 because of Swine Flu concerns.

Dead Rising 2 is the only game we won’t be able to showcase at E3, because it’s at an early stage of development and the team is not comfortable having anyone else demo the code.

Yeah, right.

A huge hive of bees swarmed in the GameStop office. There was a sign that said “Closed due to bee infestation”.

The employees were trapped for nearly two hours until help arrived.

A good Samaritan tried to lure the bees away from the building. Here’s the ensuing conversation after

Eyewitness News: “What were people doing when you approached this??”
Good Samaritan, Edward Albers: “I don’t know…they were laughing…some of ‘em…”
Eyewitness News: “Was anyone stung??”
Albers: “Not yet…”

And finally, at around 4 p.m. the NYPD’s bee specialist arrived — but removing the hive was no easy task…
“I’m probably gonna be relying on scent…the queen bee’s scent…it could take a half hour&an hour…two hours…I don’t know,” NYPD bee expert Tony Planakis said.

It sounds crazy. But eversince Mr. Wright left Maxis to do his own stuff, there’s now a game with him and Mr. T. Cool!

The game’s description?

Mr. T will “”take on Nazis and their gigantic machines in the varied universe of South American rain forests, lost ancient cities, industrial complexes and contemporary military installations.”

Meanwile, Wright will be a “”top-notch American geneticist who was kidnapped and coerced to work on a diabolic plan.”

Severe wacky fun. Can’t wait to see it.
