Marvel.com launches Geek-Lactus!

Get a low-down of all Marvel collectibles, action figures, etc. as Marvel.com releases its new online segment, Geek-Lactus. Featured in their premiere episode are the new toys from Hasbro, Hot Toys, Kotobukiya, etc.

Geek-Lactus? Sounds like a milk-drinking intergalactic demi-god, but check out the full first episode here:

Watch Episodes of the 1967 Spider Man Animated Series

Spider Man, Spider Man, does whatever a Spidey can…
That’s right – following along the veins of streaming episodes of the Japanese Spider Man series, Marvel.com has also started showing the 1967 Spider-Man animated series.
Those already mature enough (eherm…old enough) to remember the series, especially the theme song, will probably want to take a peek back. Those young enough, if curiosity permits, should try and get a taste of the 60′s – and maybe get to bond with their parents better during and after seeing these.

Those foot soldiers are really creeping me out with their tumbling-while-running antics – they’ll all get to where they’re going faster if they just sprint it all the way!

Galactus vs. Beta Ray Bill!

Uh-oh, what did you get into this time, Beta Ray Bill?!

Just saw this and had to share it – Beta Ray Bill’s going to be chasing down the big blue and purple in June 2009 in a 3-issue mini-series entitled Godhunter. Beta Ray Bill’s going on a hunt to kill Galactus! Exciting news? Well, it is to me, as I’ve been following Beta Ray Bill’s adventures since the last Ragnarok. Kieron Gillen and Kano take the writing and art chores for this one, with covers by Patrick Zircher.

Watch Spiderman…in Broadway!

Spiderman’s epic story will now be retold…or rather, sung in Broadway.
Our man Spidey’s been zippin’ all over ever since he hit the jackpot in the big screen. This is one unexpected adaptation, though as “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark” opens on Broadway.

Written and directed by Tony® Award-winner Julie Taymor (known for “The Lion King,” “Across The Universe”), expect some major-class talent handling our webhead’s life story. Fans of U2 will however, be happy to know that Bono and The Edge will be handling the music and lyrics. So yeah, that’ll be clearly quite a different experience altogether!

Though the casting is still not revealed, the show opens on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Broadway’s Hilton Theatre, with preview performances beginning on Saturday, January 16, 2010 – details will be posted on Marvel.com.

Group tickets now on sale. Single tickets will go on sale June, 2009. For more information about group tickets, visit the “Spider-Man” website at www.SpidermanOnBroadway.com or by calling 1-800-Broadway.

Well being a fan of U2 and Spiderman, I’m really curious on how this’ll ‘play’ out. Maybe they’d have choruses for “My Spidersense is tingling!” or “Thwip Thwip Thwip”. This certainly proves that the webhead’s gone a loong way.

Avengers go four-pawed!

Pet Avengers will chase away your New, Dark, and Mighty…

You’ve seen Marvel wade through the various weird and ridiculous incarnations of its heroes – Zombies, Apes, Rex-dogs, etc. Now here’s another take – this time, it’s PETS! Lockjaw, that adorable Teleporter bulldog from the Inhumans, is gracing the limelight with LOCKJAW & THE PET AVENGERS. Written by Chris Eliopoulos, the story involves Lockjaw, Lockheed, Redwing, Hairball, and Frog-Thor (yes, FROG-THOR! Details to follow, ribbit!).

The pets are said to actually talk but…

“The only one not talking will be Lockjaw,” Eliopoulos says. “The other animals can talk. It’ll be insulated to just the animals, but after movies like ‘Finding Nemo’ and books like Pride of Baghdad, I think people will just accept it and enjoy the ride.”

Sounds fun? We hope so! I’ll surely keep an eye out on this one.

Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers will be out in May 2009.

Ninja’s, Elektra, scantily clad samurai women, oh my!

Titled Iron Fist: The Dragon Unleashed, this 8 minute clip shows us that awesomeness can come in cheap packages.

(I seriously enjoyed this short clip far more than the Elektra movie with Jennifer Garner.)
