News has it that someone’s cooking a real-life movie of the hit anime-series, Afro Samurai. What’s shocking is that bad-ass-mother*(%&#@, Samuel L. Jackson, who voiced the hero in the anime, is NOT taking the lead role.

According to Quiet Earth; “Samuel L Jackson is digging a live action version of their hit anime series Afro Samurai. “We have a live-action plan,” Jackson revealed, saying that he wants to see Afro’s battle with Number One up on the big screen with flesh-and-blood actors. “Hopefully, that script will come together and we’ll be able to do that in the next two years or so.” Jackson said he wouldn’t play the lead but instead would play the dead father, providing spiritual guidance and advice.”
The anime series features noted American actor Samuel L. Jackson as the voice of the titular character and his sidekick, as well as one of the co-producers, and also features Ron Perlman and Kelly Hu as character voices. Wu-Tang Clan member RZA produced the original hip hop musical score.
